Title: Mind Over Fire - Chapter 1 Author: Viper Inferno E-mail: viperdvman@hotmail.com Rated: PG-13 Howdy Sailor Moon Fans. Welcome back to the world of Y2V. I tell y'all, it ain't ever gonna end, not even with these da'gum college classes. As y'all saw in the prologue, I introduced to y'all a new character, Deanna Kokorono. She's quite a character if I do say so myself, smart and beautiful, yet lacking human emotions. I can bet many of y'all, includin' a certain reviewer, are thinking: "Is Deanna a friend, enemy, or competitor for Russell's affections?" As of the time wrote this, only one person knew what she's gonna be. It's in this chapter where I'll show y'all what she role she fills. So, here's the Y2V... ...Disclaimer: Sailor Moon and most of the characters ain't mine. They belong to Naoko Takeuchi, and I thank that woman for creating such great entertainment for all of us with a lot of free time on our hands to enjoy. The English dub belongs to DiC Entertainment and CWI, and I thank them for bringing' it to America. The Super S season sure ended like a true Sailor Moon season, with climactic action and heart. Anyways, Russell Hino, Hino Kyodai, Tuxedo Inferno, and all his other identities are MINE (in a deep, dark, growling voice). Deanna Kokorono is also purely my creation. So, please don't sue me, I'm just a lonely college student who's barely got anything, just payin' his way through college. Well, y'all enjoy this fanfic and e-mail me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mind Over Fire By Viper Inferno Chapter 1 Morning, Cherry Hill Temple... The morning is rather quiet as Russell sits at the dining room table, quickly looking through his Political Science work. The fact that Russell is ahead of the rest of the class by a chapter doesn't bother the scholar athlete one bit, and doesn't divert him from his studies. The aroma of freshly brewed cappuccino fills the air throughout the temple, giving it the true smell of morning. Russell looks out the window in response to one of Raye's crows cackling at him. He gets up and walks toward the window as the crow flies away, making its constant caws. He leans on the windowsill and glances at the bare trees lining the bounds of the yard. The birds are rather quiet, since most of them are migrating back from the cooling south. The sight of the clear blue sky reminds him of the color of the love of his life. He closes his eyes and pictures his beautiful Amy. The first thing that comes to his mind is that snowy day that Luna had somehow restored to him. He remembers Amy bundled up in her light-colored winter gear, reading a book in the rather peaceful environment, despite the fact that it was still snowing. Such winter weather, chasing people inside, gave Amy the peaceful studying environment, free of distractions. He concentrates on her calm, delicate face and how such delicacy could stand up to such frigid air. He pictures those beautiful sapphire blue eyes, scanning every bit of text in that book. Feelings of great admiration and love overcome him as he remembers how she looked up from her book and through the window, her sapphire eyes meeting with his. That warm smile she gave him melted the frigidness within him, brought on by the depressing outdoors. Gosh, Amy is such a wonderful girl, one who is a great friend to Raye and her friends. She's the perfect girl to share interesting science with, as well as a romantic dinner. She's a girl who can brighten your day with just her beautiful, heart-warming smile and gentle voice. "Hey Russell," a man's voice greets, breaking Russell of his wonderful thoughts. Russell opens his eyes to see Yuuichiro leaning on his broom and looking directly into those dark-purple eyes of the scholar athlete. "What are you doing?" Yuuichiro asks. "I was studying and having a cappuccino," Russell replies. "You were thinking about Amy, weren't 'ya," Yuuichiro inquires, seeing right through Russell's cover-up. "Don't you have chores to finish?" Russell asks, avoiding Yuuichiro's statement. "Don't you have chores to do before your first class?" Yuuichiro asks, throwing it right back at him. "I finished all mine," Russell rebuts, "so I'm studying for my Poli. Sci. class." 'Touché.' "Right, and I absolutely hate your sister," Yuuichiro immediately replies, obviously teasing Russell about Amy. "I hope your daydreaming doesn't distract you," he adds. "Go finish working," says Russell as he closes the storm shutters in Yuuichiro's face, with a little force. "Like sister, like brother," Yuuichiro sarcastically comments as he continues sweeping the wooden patio surrounding the temple. Russell walks back to the table and back to his studies. He relaxes as he sits on the floor and begins going through his Political Science notes. He wonders why he has to take this class; it's so easy to him. He's already ahead of the class, so he might as well finish it well before the rest of the class. Finals will be a cinch with all the rest of the stuff syllabus out of the way. He finds all this studying pointless in the first place, but the University requires him to take the class. Throughout the entire study, one particular thought distracts him, 'I'm gonna get my new car, I'm gonna get my new car, I'm gonna get my new car!!!' With the boring Political Science studies, and the exciting thought of finally getting a new car, Russell finds yet another distraction. The cappuccino aroma in the air gets stronger, almost overwhelming Russell's senses. Feeling great temptation, Russell tries to sip his cappuccino, only suck in empty air. He looks at it and, to his surprise, finds the cup empty. So he gets up from the table and walks over to get him another cup. He turns back toward the table to find Gabianni walking into the dining room in only his boxers. Much of his short brown hair hangs in his face, along with the bangs. "You just get up?" Russell asks, taking a sip of cappuccino. "Yeah, lemme have some of that stuff," Gabianni replies. "Sure," Russell replies as he pulls a cup out of the cabinet and pours some for him. "Thanks," says Gabianni as he takes the cup and chugs it down in a hurry. The fact that it's hot doesn't seem to bother him any. "That's the quickest I've seen you down a cup of hot cappuccino," Russell comments. Gabianni winces and writhes his face in response to how hot the cappuccino was. He immediately runs to the kitchen sink, sticks his face under the faucet, and turns it on. The rush of cold water in his mouth and down his throat relieves him of that rather awakening burning sensation. After cooling his mouth off, Gabianni turns back to Russell. "That cappuccino is what woke me up," he says, "I wanted some so badly when I got up." "Even if it burns 'ya," Russell comments, chuckling at Gabianni's misfortune. "Yes, even if it burns me," Gabianni answers sarcastically. He then remembers why Russell was in such a great mood the night before. "So, you get your new car soon, eh?" he asks. The excitement overcomes Russell at the sound of that question. "Yes, I know exactly what kind of car I'm getting, and I'm going to America this Friday to test drive it and pick it up," he says enthusiastically. "How are you gonna get it from there to here?" Gabianni asks, "I don't think you're gonna drive over water." "Oh no," Russell replies, "I'm gonna have a ferry bring it here as I fly back here." "You can always fly it in on a cargo plane," Gabianni suggests as he pours himself another cup of cappuccino, "It's much faster that way. You could get it the day after you come back rather than a couple weeks after." "You know, Gabianni," says Russell, with a light bulb clicking in his head, "That's an idea. I can get my car immediately. Yes, I'll fly it in." "Glad I could help," says Gabianni as walks out of the dining room with his cappuccino, "Oh, and can you take me to the airport with 'ya when you get your car?" "Sure," Russell replies as Gabianni turns and walks toward his room. Russell then grabs his books and walks into his room to prepare for his worthless Political Science class. Tokyo Streets... Russell takes his time driving to Azabu Tech, taking the more scenic route, which takes him near Darien's. On his rather long trip, he drives by his favorite hang out places, as well as a few friends' houses. He drives by Lita's apartment, Amy's house, and then finally Darien's apartment. A familiar figure catches Russell's eye as Darien walks out of his apartment and starts on his way to his next class. Russell pulls up right next to him and rolls down his window, "Hey Darien, need a ride?" Darien turns to the old coupe; not even his faint memories could take that image from his head. "Hey Russell," he replies. "Hop on in," Russell offers, opening his passenger side door. In response, Darien immediately hops in. He's not going to turn this offer down. "Guess what, Darien?" Russell asks, with the same thought he's had all day going through his mind. "You look rather excited," Darien comments, noting Russell's apparent ecstasy, "It's like something good's got you preoccupied." "Yes, I'm getting my new car soon," Russell says excitedly, "And I know what kind I'm getting." "Oh yeah, I remember you were finding a new sports car. Not even my injury and amnesia could take that memory away," says Darien, "So, what kind did you get?" "You'll see, my friend, you'll see," Russell replies. "So, what class do you have again?" Darien asks. "Political Science," Russell replies. Darien immediately begins thinking about the new girl in school, "Daniel tells me about this new girl you guys met yesterday." Then, at the sound of that, it hits Russell's mind. 'Damn, I forgot I had Deanna in my Political Science class,' he thinks to himself, 'At least I'll have a friend in that class.' "Yeah, she's a very smart girl, kinda like Amy," Russell states. Darien immediately gets an idea at the sound of Russell's comment, "You sound like you're intrigued by her." "Well, she's more than just a highly intelligent girl," Russell explains, "She has these extraordinary abilities, ones I rarely see in people." Darien finds interest in this person with extraordinary abilities, kind of like the ones these Sailor Scouts he tends to help a lot has, "Oh? How so?" "Well, she's very intuitive, in that she seems to know a lot about me and Daniel. She knows I have a sister, and that I share a very close bond with her. She also knows about Amy, and how much I love her," Russell explains, "She's also very perceptive, in that she seems to know when I'm around, or approaching." "Sounds like she has some advanced extrasensory perception," Darien comments. "It's not only that, Darien. She's not just a person with ESP, she's also telekinetic," says Russell. Darien's eyes widen in shock of what he hears, "Telekinesis?!?! She possesses telekinesis?" "You heard right," Russell confirms, "She's shown me some of what she can do with it. It's a skill she's practiced for years. She says telekinesis was the first ability she discovered." "Sounds like an amazing girl," says Darien, "Kinda like the Sailor Scouts." Russell opens his mouth to comment about how he, Darien, and the Sailor Scouts have done so much, but then reality hits, 'That's right, he's suffering from amnesia. He doesn't remember he's Tuxedo Mask, or that I'm Tuxedo Inferno.' He only lets out a sigh as he makes it to the university. Russell easily finds a parking space and slides right in. Both men then proceed to exit the vehicle. "Well, I'll see 'ya at lunch, good buddy," says Russell. "You too Russ," Darien replies as both men head to their classes. Political Science class... Russell walks into the classroom to find very few people already there, early, including Deanna, wearing a black short-sleeve dress with the skirt a short distance above the knee, and her black high-heeled boots. She sits in the far back corner, looking up from a book directly into Russell's eyes. He immediately waves at her, "Hey Deanna." Deanna only snaps a wave and turns back to her book. 'Typical Deanna,' Russell thinks to himself, 'Oh well, maybe I'll talk to her later.' He then takes his seat in the center of the classroom as more students file in. He looks at the clock on the wall and finds that he was indeed early. Class doesn't start for another 8 minutes. He then begins wondering just how early Deanna and the other 2 students were, especially Deanna. With a girl that dedicated to academics, she was probably the first one there. Russell may be dedicated to his studies, but he usually never comes in early for last minute studying. He remembers he wanted to go over something with her right quick before class started. With plenty of time on his hands before class begins, he gets up from his desk and walks over to Deanna. "Deanna," he says, getting her attention. She looks up at him with her usual straight face. "I just want to make sure we got this assignment down and ready before class begins," he says. "Then have a seat, we have little time," Deanna replies. They go over their assignment and a few of their answers, being a true team to one another. Deanna even provides Russell with a little insight on the reason for some of her solutions on the assignment. Russell finds himself astonished at how deeply Deanna looks into a particular subject. It must me those psychic abilities she displayed that help her out. 'Well, at least Amy and I don't need psychic intuition to probe that deep into a subject,' Russell thinks to himself, 'though it is an ability I could sure use sometimes.' Before class, Russell gets up to head back to his desk, only to be stopped by Deanna. "Russell, can we meet off campus during lunch? There is still much to discuss," she says. "Sounds good to me," Russell replies as he heads to his desk. Immediately, the professor asks for the class assignments. Content with his, Russell gets his out that he changed a little, thanks to Deanna, and passes it forward. Afterwards, the professor begins lecturing on the very details of the Japanese government. Russell finds difficulty concentrating, with thoughts of getting his new car constantly on his mind. It is like that for him throughout the entire class. 'Damn, it's too hard to concentrate,' Russell thinks to himself, 'maybe I'm just getting rusty 'cause I'm excited about getting my new car. I just hope this anxiety goes away after I finally get it. Damn.' Russell chuckles to himself a little, drawing the attention of a couple students sitting near him, thinking, 'What's gotten into Russell? He's usually into this class like it was Jesus preaching on the mount.' After class, Russell walks out into the hall and towards his next class. 'Damn, that was one of my worst days in class," he thinks to himself, 'I can see it now. Russell Hino, scholar athlete, can't even concentrate in class. I didn't even get most of what Dr. Ayunami was lecturing.' Russell looks in his notebook at his notes for the class, 'Look at this, only three quarters of a page, and usually I have two and a half worth of notes. Okay, Russell, you can get it together in Calculus class. Calc's your forte; you should be able to concentrate on it more easily. Oh, what the heck am I talking about, I'm ahead of the class. But still, I gotta concentrate. Don't lose focus, Russell, or it'll come back and haunt you.' Russell walks out of the building and towards the one where his math class is located. Lunch, at the Azabu Plaza... Russell walks outside the campus grounds and towards the Azabu Plaza, where he and Deanna agreed to meet during lunch. Russell looks around the stores, searching for Deanna since she didn't say exactly where she'd be. The only benches around are those along the sidewalks, and they're all empty. Since it's early in the lunch hour, the sidewalk's a little quieter than usual. He then remembers there's a small park near the plaza. Deanna might be there, where it's quieter. Normally, only birds and squirrels are found there, but there are benches where people can sit and feed them. It's a rather nice little park, with lush green grass and a few large trees. Russell decides to head in that direction, figuring Deanna preferred the quieter part to the benches on the sidewalk. Russell makes his way there to see Deanna sitting on the bench reading a book. Russell approaches her to find out what she wanted to discuss. "Don't even bother sitting down, Russell," Deanna says in her usual tone. "What's wrong Deanna?" Russell asks, "You sound mad?" "I don't feel anger, remember?" Deanna replies, "Actually, I wanted to talk about you." "Me?" Russell says in astonishment. Deanna looks up from her book and at Russell with her eyes glowing a bright blue. "Whoa, what's with the eyes?" Russell says, wondering what she's doing. Suddenly, Russell feels a force surround his body and grab a hold of him. "I know about your abilities," says Deanna, "and I also know something that only the Sailor Scouts would know." Deanna lifts her arm and lightly flings her wrist, causing the force Russell's feeling to overcome him. Russell begins to levitate off the ground. Russell's eyes widen in pure shock, wondering what Deanna's trying to prove by using her psychic abilities on him. She then waves her arm towards a nearby tree, sending Russell flying into it. Deanna's eyes continue to glow a bright blue as Russell feels that force holding his back against the tree with great strength. "What the hell are you doing?" Russell shouts. "I know who you are... Tuxedo Inferno," Deanna replies. Russell's eyes widen at that statement. 'Whoa, she knows who I am, but how?' "I also know your sister's Sailor Mars," Deanna adds, "and your beloved Amy is Sailor Mercury. I also know that your best friend Darien is Tuxedo Mask." "Why are you doing this, Deanna?" Russell strains to ask, "I thought you were my friend. Plus Darien doesn't even remember that he's Tuxedo Mask." Deanna only pushes him harder into the tree with her psychic powers, "I have no friends," Deanna responds, "I don't need them. A social life just gets in the way." She notices that he's barely responding to her telekinetic onslaught, only giving in to it, as if he's trying to hide his alter ego. In response, Deanna waves her arm toward another tree, sending Russell flying into it. "Well, aren't you going to transform into Tuxedo Inferno?" Deanna taunts. 'I seem to have no choice,' Russell thinks to himself as he raises the his obsidian jewel ring in the air, 'but to stand up against her as Tuxedo Inferno.' Russell's ring glows as he transforms into his dark maroon tuxedo. In response, Deanna drops her arm, dropping Tuxedo Inferno at the same time. "So, you've finally decided to come out of your shell," says Deanna, "Let's see just how powerful you are." 'So she wants a fight,' Tuxedo Inferno thinks to himself, 'Why does she want this? And why does she not like the Sailor Scouts? I thought that without emotion she couldn't like or dislike something.' Tuxedo Inferno immediately jumps into the tree and hides himself from Deanna, waiting for the right moment to attack. Deanna is not fooled by his intentions. She's seen it before. She concentrates on the branch Tuxedo Inferno is standing on and grabs it with her telekinetic powers. The branch under him begins to bend downwards, as if she's going to use it as a catapult and launch him out of the tree. With his quick reflexes, Tuxedo Inferno jumps down from the tree and waves his arms to his sides, sending a fireball floating above his head. "Inferno, Flame!" Tuxedo Inferno waves his arm toward Deanna, sending the fireball flying at her. Deanna doesn't even flinch as the fireball speeds toward her. 'Yeah!' Tuxedo Inferno says to himself as the fireball hits its mark, appearing to engulf Deanna in flames. The fire then disappears in a flash, revealing Deanna with her eyes glowing a bright blue and a bright blue aura surrounding her. Tuxedo Inferno looks in shock, as his attack had no effect on his psychic opponent. Deanna lifts her arm toward Tuxedo Inferno's direction and grasps the air. Tuxedo Inferno feels a force grab at his throat, choking some of the air out of him, as his body lifts off the ground. He tries to grab at whatever has a hold of his throat, only to feel just his throat. Deanna then waves her arm to the side, sending Tuxedo Inferno flying into one of the plaza buildings with great force. Tuxedo Inferno slides down the wall and onto the ground, rather dazed from the impact and shocked at the power of Deanna's telekinesis. 'She's a lot stronger than I thought,' Tuxedo Inferno says to himself. He then draws his Flame Sword from his obsidian jewel ring and points it at Deanna. 'Maybe enhancing my powers with my Flame Sword will work against her powers,' Tuxedo Inferno thinks to himself. "Your sword is better off in a showcase than it is against me," Deanna remarks as begins to focus on his sword. Tuxedo Inferno immediately readies his sword and does a few fancy sword moves, "Inferno Fire, Dance!" The then slides towards Deanna at blazing speed, setting the small park ablaze in his wake. He dances around Deanna at the speed of light, trying desperately to land a blow on her. When he returns to his previous position, he finds the area where Deanna was standing in flames. Seconds later, a great wind emanates from the center of the blaze, extinguishing it in a split-second and forcing Tuxedo some short distance back. Tuxedo Inferno looks in shock to find Deanna, her black dress unscathed. Tuxedo Inferno grits his teeth in anger. "That's it, no more games," he says as he shows off some of his swordsman skills and lets it rest at his side, with the tip of the blade a mere inch from the ground. He then charges at her, dragging the blade along the grass. "Flame Sword..." he yells as flames begin to collect into his blade, setting it ablaze. Deanna doesn't move an inch, just watching him charge at her with a burning blade. She looks into his masked eyes, anticipating his attack. "STRIKE!!" Tuxedo Inferno yells as spins his body, and his blade, and swings it at Deanna from above. Deanna quickly holds her hand out, stopping the blade from hitting her by a hair. The flames explode as the blade hits the barrier. The combination of that and Deanna's telekinetic powers send Tuxedo Inferno flying to the other side of the park and his sword flying out of his hand. Tuxedo Inferno gets up and looks to find his sword lying not far from him. He quickly crawls over to get it, only to have it fly away from him and into another tree, way out of reach. He looks back toward Deanna, who's looking straight at him with her glowing blue eyes. A force grabs a hold of him and lifts him in the air. Deanna lifts her hand and twirls her fingers around, causing Tuxedo Inferno to spin around in the air with great speed. She then waves her fist towards the ground, sending Tuxedo Inferno auguring into the ground. After a minute, Tuxedo Inferno recovers and looks up toward Deanna, who is walking towards him. He tries to get up to retaliate, only to find himself bound down by an invisible force, obviously Deanna's telekinetic powers. "Why are you doing this?" he strains to say, "We've done nothing to you." "For 15 years, I have trained in my psychic abilities," Deanna replies, "I have endeavored to become a master psychic. Then, Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts, including Tuxedo Inferno, show up. Ever since then, I've see them as great competition and a good example to prove that my powers can match and even surpass theirs." "So for a girl with no emotion, you do this for competition?" Tuxedo Inferno asks. "It is said that competition brings out the best in companies, and people," says Deanna, "This is only one way for me to expand my psychic powers. From this battle, analyzing your abilities, your powers don't impress me any." Deanna proves it by raising her arm, lifting Tuxedo Inferno from out of the ground, and waves it toward another plaza building. Under telekinetic influence, Tuxedo Inferno flies into that building, knocking much of his energy out of him. When he comes to a minute later, he finds that Deanna has left. He staggers to his feet and looks around to make sure nobody would see him. With no one around, he transforms back to his civilian form. "How does she know all of this?" Russell asks himself, "How does she know who I am?" With lots on his mind now, other than getting his new car, he walks back to the campus. Since he has no more classes for the day, he walks over to his car and drives home. Cherry Hill Temple, dojo... Russell walks out of his room, dressed in his white ghi with a fancy black belt. He heads to the temple dojo, with much on his mind. In the dojo, many weapons from swords, bo staffs, nunchukus, and various other weapons line the walls, as well as kendo sticks and armor. The general architecture and décor of the dojo is the same as the rest of the temple. A few dummies stand in a corner of the dojo, while a punching bag hangs near the opposite corner. Much of the floor is lined with red matting. Russell takes a bow before entering the training area. He begins with a few slow, graceful moves. How he does it seems so flawless, especially for a guy who's practiced martial arts all his life. Doing a number of slow hand and arm maneuvers, one move flowing from one to the other, Russell's moves are more of Tai Chi than Karate. He then changes his style as he kicks back and makes himself more aggressive. He does a number of high kicks, side kicks, roundhouses, and leg sweeps. He finishes his maneuvers and takes a bow to end his routine. He walks over to the weapons wall and thinks about which weapon to use for his next routine. He knows he's gonna use a larger weapon. That narrows it down to the glaive and the bo staff. He makes a quick and easy decision and goes with the bo staff, removing it from the wall. Russell bows, with his bo in hand, and begins another rather aggressive routine. Not only with his years of martial arts training, but also with his Silver Millennium training Luna had restored to him, Russell handles the bo like a true master. He spins it and strikes with great speed and precision, along with a number of body movements. He then does a number of complex maneuvers that appear to be more for show than attack. He finishes his routine by going offensive again and using his bo as a pole vault, launching himself into a flying kick. He takes a bow and leaves the training area. He sits at one of the benches near the wall to take a rest. 'How, with all my years of training both now and in the Silver Millennium, did I fall to Deanna?' Russell thinks to himself, 'She was faster than I was and she stopped every attack I threw at her. My attacks were useless against her. What's worse is that she and I were becoming friends too. Why did she turn against me?' Russell gets up and immediately walks over to one of the punching bags. He loosens his joints up a little and starts laying a few punches on it. On it, he practices his power and precision. As he lays it on the bag, images begin flashing in his head. The image of Deanna lifting him up by the throat with her telekinetic powers really gets his attention. 'Damn, I can still feel that,' he says to himself, 'she sure has a lot of power behind that mind of hers.' In response, he starts taking it to the punching bag a little more aggressively. As he lays it on the punching bag, the door slides open. Russell doesn't even pay attention to it as Raye walks into the dojo, wearing her usual red and white temple kimono. Raye sees that Russell's deep in his martial arts training. "Russell," she calls out trying to get his attention. Russell doesn't even stop to look, only continues waylaying the punching bag. Raye sees that something must be motivating him to focus on that bag. "Ahem, RUSSELL!!!" Raye barks out, hoping that'll get his attention. Russell stops for a moment to catch his breath. He looks over in Raye direction, "Yes Raye?" "You have a visitor," she replies. Russell watches as a rather familiar blue-haired girl, wearing a Crossroads Jr. High uniform, walks into the dojo. "Hi there my Sir Lancelot," she greets as she walks inside with a bright, yet beautiful smile on her face. "Hi there Lady Guinevere," Russell replies. Raye giggles at their rather creative pet names for each other, "Lancelot? Guinevere?" Russell glares at Raye's attempt to tease him as she giggles again and runs out of the dojo, letting the two lovebirds be. Russell immediately turns back to the punching bag with thoughts of his recent loss still fresh in his mind. Amy immediately notices that Russell doesn't seem to be himself. "So, how's your day been, Russell?" she asks. "Fine," Russell answers, still laying a few punches on the bag, "just fine." Amy sees that something definitely has Russell distracted. They fell in love with each other. They usually can't wait for any moment to see each other, and they are usually in each other's arms when they do. This time, it's different. It's as if something has upset Russell, distracting him from the love he feels towards her. She looks at his face and sees that he's pummeling the punching bag as if all his rage was focused on it. It's a look she's only seen in one particular moment, in battle against Titanius. "Russell, are you alright?" Amy asks. "I'm fine, just had a bad day, that's all," he answers, trying to avoid what really happened. "Don't worry about it," she says, "once you get your new car, things will get much better." 'If Deanna doesn't decide she wants another fight,' Russell thinks to himself. "Yeah, I guess you're right," he says. He begins giving the bag a few kicks, increasing his aggression. "Russell, how about going out for dinner after you get your new car?" Amy asks, blushing a near crimson, and drawing circles on the floor with her toe, "You know, take her out for a spin?" Russell continues attacking the punching bag, as if he was Tuxedo Inferno and the bag was one of his past enemies, or present. "Sure, why not," he answers. "Okay, I'll... see you later, Russell," Amy says as she turns around and leaves the dojo. Russell gives the bag one last powerful blow, nearly knocking it off it's chain. He then takes a seat at the bench. "Damn, Amy was here too, and I wasn't even happy to see her. Amy, I'm so sorry," Russell thinks to himself, "This definitely turned out to be a bad day." Raye walks back inside minutes later, with a slight frown on her face. "Russell," she says before taking a seat next to him," you alright?" "I'm good, just had a bad day," he replies. "Amy was saying you didn't look or act yourself," she explains, "It was like she wasn't even there." "I love Amy," says Russell, "I would never do that to her." "You do remember what she asked you, don't you?" Raye asks, as if she already knows the answer. "Yes," Russell replies confidently, "It's rather unusual of her to actually ask me to dinner." "Actually, you asked her yesterday," Raye reminds, "You asked her while you two were studying yesterday. She just said after you get your new car." "How could I have forgotten that," Russell growls, grabbing his hair in anger at himself. "Excuse me, Raye," he says as he gets up and walks out of the dojo, forgetting to bow before leaving. "He's so distracted, by something rather strong," Raye tells herself, sensing Russell's strong feelings. "It's as if something drastic happened to him or something. Raye gets up and she too walks out of the dojo. Late that night... Raye slowly and quietly tiptoes in the halls, making sure not to wake anybody up. She slowly pushes the door to Romano's room, just enough to take a peek inside. She finds him asleep, with not as much as a snore coming from him. She then tiptoes over to Gabianni's door. Since it's already cracked open, she takes a quick peek inside to find only his stereo running, with rather relaxing classical music lulling him to sleep. With two people asleep, and 2 more to check on, she tiptoes to Yuuichiro's room. His door is left wide-open, so Raye just tiptoes right inside. She watches him as he sleeps with such serene, such tranquility. "He can be quite annoying at times," Raye whispers to herself, "but he's become such a great friend of Russell's. He works so hard and takes Grandpa's rashness so well. I'd love to hear some of his songs, see him perform." She then realizes she had something else on her mind and begins to back out of his room, "Someday Yuuichiro, someday our dreams will come true." She then heads towards Russell's room, making sure no one hears her. She finds his door closed, so she slowly, quietly, and gently opens the door. She sees him completely out cold, asleep. Slowly, and quietly, she walks to his bedside. Russell lies asleep on his side, facing the side where Raye is standing and toward the window. "Oh Russell, what is it that could be bothering you?" she asks as she kneels right next to him. She gently brushes his long bangs back to the side of his head and lies her hand on his. "What happened that's gotten you so distracted?" she asks him. She gives his hand a gentle squeeze before getting back up, "The Great Fire might know the answer. Oh Russell, whatever it is, I'll be there for you." She silently tiptoes out of his room and over to the worship room. Inside, the Great Fire burns strong as ever, yet not posing any kind of fire hazard to the temple. Raye kneels before the fire and prepares herself for her reading. She thinks of her brother, the very reason for this late-night fire reading. She then closes her eyes, says a few chants, and begins praying to the Great Fire. "Oh Great Fire, trouble brews in this family. Trouble distracts Russell from the environment around him and masks his true feelings. Show me trouble is dwelling in his mind." Immediately, visions of Tuxedo Inferno appear before her. Visions of him using numerous different attacks appear in her mind. Yet, who, or what Tuxedo Inferno is attacking remains a mystery. She begins to concentrate more on not what was going on, but whom he was fighting. 'Oh Great Fire, is it a new enemy he's fighting?' Raye says in her mind. Raye becomes quite surprised when she sees Russell, in his civilian form, talking with some unknown figure, possibly someone from school. They seem to be sharing common knowledge with each other. This confuses Raye, 'Is this what's wrong with Russell? He met a new friend and it's getting in the way of his relationship with Amy?' Suddenly, the Great Fire flares up, brightening up the room threefold. At the same time, Raye sees this "friend" unsheathe a knife and stab Russell in the back. Her eyes pop open at that one sight. "That must've been the mystery person he was attacking," she says to herself, "It's someone close to Russell. He's in danger." "Raye!" a voice half barks, half mumbles. Raye jumps at its sound and turns to see Yuuichiro standing in the doorway. "What are you doing up this late at night?" he questions, "Don't you have school tomorrow?" "I was doing a little worship," Raye replies. "Why this late at night?" Yuuichiro asks. "For Russell," she answers, "Seeing if there was any way I can help. Have you noticed anything different about him today?" "He was rather excited about going to America to get his new car," Yuuichiro answers, "But after he got home from classes, I saw this look in him I've never seen in him. It's like something bad happened at the college. Maybe he got a bad grade, you know how sensitive about his grades he is." "Yeah, I guess you're right," Raye says, faking her relief and hiding the fact that Russell was in a battle with someone. But what has him so upset about that one battle? "Thank you, Yuuichiro," she says as she walks past him and out of the worship room, making a beeline towards her room, "Good night Yuuichiro, sweet dreams." Still half-tired, yet fully alert, Yuuichiro smiles at her rather sweet behavior towards him. 'She likes me,' he thinks to himself before heading back to his room for a nice, comfortable rest. He'll surely be dreaming of her tonight. Next Day, Azabu Tech... Russell walks down the halls of Yagasaki Hall, on his way to one of his favorite classes, Beginning Particle Physics. Many thoughts are on his mind as he walks the half-crowded hall. Thoughts of his new sports car are most dominant in his mind. The fact that his aunt and uncle are paying for the car and its trip to Japan really make him feel thankful, even it is a long belated birthday/Christmas present. 'It's a beautifully made car, it's a fast car, and it's the one I'm getting,' Russell thinks to himself. But then, thoughts of his recent loss to Deanna are also on his mind. It's a good thing nobody was there to witness the major butt whooping he received from her. 'It was so embarrassing losing to her so miserably,' Russell thinks to himself as he nears his class, 'None of my attacks even worked on her. Either I'm getting rusty, or she truly is that powerful.' He makes it to his class, thinking that concentrating on Particle Physics would get his mind off Deanna easily defeating him. Just as he walks into the doorway, a familiar face catches his sight as he sees a girl with purple shoulder-length, a red tank top, and blue jeans sitting in the middle of the classroom, looking directly into his eyes. 'Holy shit, I forgot Deanna had this class too,' Russell thinks to himself in shock as he quickly backs out of the room. '"You don't want to miss your class, do you Russell,"' Deanna's voice says in his mind. Russell slowly and cautiously walks into the classroom, with Deanna still looking directly at him. '"You have nothing to fear,"' her voice says in his head, '"I'm not going to fight you. We are both here to learn. Please, have a seat."' 'She's telepathic too?!' Russell thinks to himself as he takes his seat and opens his Physics book. The professor comes into the classroom and calls his class to attention. Russell immediately opens his Particle Physics book, trying to forget about his new enemy sitting no more than 8 feet from him. How could they coexist after yesterday's rather humiliating battle for Russell? Most people would be ashamed or even angry at the fact of being in the same room as the person who defeated you. Russell was not only angry with Deanna for stabbing him in the back, but also quite inferior in the fact that she made him look like a joke in battle. Deanna has much of the abilities Russell has. She's already proven that she's the better fighter and the better clairvoyant. It's only natural that one would feel inferior. Russell does remember that he has one thing that Deanna doesn't have and chooses to avoid, human emotion. He has his beloved Amy, whom he loves very much. He has a close brother/sister relationship with Raye. He even shares a close friendship with Darien. Though she seems to be doing rather well without emotion, she just doesn't understand it like Russell does, or at least she hasn't proven it by him. With the thoughts of his loss yesterday, and the reassuring thought of what he does possess over Deanna, Russell lets out a contented sigh and begins paying attention to the professor. 'This is so easy', Russell thinks to himself as he takes the lecture notes. He recognizes them as something he went over in the textbook a couple weeks ago. '"Of course it's easy to you,"' Deanna's voice says in his head. He peeks over at Deanna, who's eyes only briefly meet his. '"You read well ahead of the class,"' she says telepathically before turning back to lecture. 'Shouldn't you be paying attention to the lecture like I am and not reading my mind?' Russell thinks to himself, intending it for Deanna to read it, if she is. A few minutes later, Russell takes a quick peek at Deanna's direction, wondering if she's planning anything against him. He lets out another sigh as he turns back to the lecture. 'If she decides to attack me here, I'll have no choice but to defend myself,' Russell thinks to himself, 'But how do avoid transforming in front of all those people?' After the class, Russell packs his books and notes up and gets up to leave. He quickly scans the room for Deanna, only to find her gone, and in a rather hurry. He calmly walks out of the classroom, remembering that he has no other class with her today. He makes it outside of Yagasaki Hall and decides to sit on a nearby bench to look over some Astronomy notes, since the class is not for another hour. After a about 10 minutes, students begin clearing out of the area as they head to and from their classes. The quieter environment makes it a little easier for Russell to concentrate on his studying. 'Wonder how Amy does it?' he thinks to himself, remembering some of the times he's seen her study, 'Oh well, she probably works better when it's quieter. Everyone does.' After a minute, an odd sense catches Russell's attention, as if someone is watching him. He looks up from his book to see the purple-haired Deanna standing right in front of him. "Haven't you fought me enough already, Deanna?" Russell asks, anticipating a fight, "Or do you just want to show off your psychic powers a little more against me?" "Russell, I did not come to Azabu Tech to pick fights with people," says Deanna, "Though I didn't even know both the Moonlight Knight and Tuxedo Inferno attended this university." "So you attacked me during lunch yesterday. That sure proves you're not here to pick fights," Russell contradicts. "You may be my enemy, Russell," says Deanna, "but I won't fight you here, ever. Here, we compete academically. I will fight you with my intelligence, my academic potential. To fight against you with my psychic powers is unfair and serves no purpose." "Then what was yesterday during lunch?" Russell asks, still skeptical. "Establishing where we compete, as far as powers are concerned," Deanna answers, "I said I wouldn't attack you here. But we just might compete elsewhere, at another time." "I'll be ready for you when the time comes," Russell replies. "I'll see you in Particle Physics class tomorrow," Deanna says as she turns and walks toward her next class. 'I never miss a class,' Russell thinks to himself as he turns back to his Astronomy notes. Later that day, at the Cherry Hill Temple... Russell sits at the dining room table with Gabianni, looking at various car magazines and showing off all the pretty cars. Gabianni looks at an American magazine at a comparison between German, Japanese, and American mid-size sedans. "Hey Russell, bet the car you're getting' this weekend can't beat this baby," Gabianni says, showing Russell a road test of a Ferrari 550 Maranello. "Probably wouldn't," Russell agrees, "but those things are also expensive. I'm accepting the gift my aunt and uncle got me. I don't wanna suck them dry with an expensive car like that. Plus, the one I'm getting is a real beauty" "Any of these magazines have a good picture of what you're getting?" Gabianni asks. Russell quickly goes through all the magazines, looking for the car he's getting. He finds a picture of one of the cars out of the 3 he had narrowed it down to a while back. "Well, I had this one in mind," he says, showing the car to Gabianni. "Porches are pretty nice cars," Gabianni states, "Still, why didn't you go with it? It's a fast German machine, with a price not too shabby for that kind of car." "It's a pretty good car, but I liked what America had to offer," Russell comments, "Most of their muscle cars are running old-fashioned overhead valves, large displacement, 2 valves per cylinder, that there is raw power." "Very true, but you get more power with more valves per cylinder, overhead cams, and even turbochargers," says Gabianni. "Take that raw power engine and drop a supercharger on it," Russell states, showing Gabianni an American hot rod magazine, "That alone will give the old-fashioned engine more power. A lot of car nuts in America love to work with these big overhead valve engines." While Russell and Gabianni are talking about cars and engines, Raye sits at the table in the living room, thinking about last night's vision. Images of Tuxedo Inferno fighting this mystery person flashes in her mind. 'If that person he was talking to was the person he was fighting, then why as Tuxedo Inferno?' she asks herself. Images of the mystery person stabbing Russell in the back dwells most in her mind. 'Then the mystery person isn't much of a friend if that was the person he was fighting.' "Where 'ya going, Russell?" Gabianni's voice asks, breaking Raye from her trance. "Going to the airport to pick up my boarding pass and talk about bringing my car here after I get back," Russell answers as he grabs his black leather jacket and his car keys. Raye reacts to that and her vision by jumping in front of Russell, placing her hand on his as Russell grabs for his car keys. "Russell, please stay here, for tonight," she says, showing a look of concern on her face. "Why Raye?" he asks, "I have to get my boarding pass so I can go to America this weekend." Raye looks to see Gabianni still there, with an absurd look on his face. 'I don't wanna tell about my vision, not in front of Gabianni,' Raye thinks to herself. "It's just not a good night to do so," she replies. "Too dangerous out there?" he asks. 'Yeah, that's it,' she thinks to herself, "Yes, please don't go." "Raye, you worry too much sometimes, 'ya know," Russell says, "I'll be fine out there. I laugh in the face of danger." Raye lets go of Russell's hand, knowing she's not going to convince him while Gabianni's right there. Russell grabs his keys and walks toward the front door. "Russell," she says, stopping Russell right in the doorway. "Yes Raye?" he answers. "Please be careful out there," she says, still wearing the troubled look on her face. "Thanks Raye, I will," he says as he walks out the door and down the temple steps toward his car. "She must sense something ahead," he thinks aloud. He hops in his car and drives away from the temple and on his way to the airport. Russell makes it to the quieter section of Tokyo, where few other cars are driving around. A number of cars are parked along the curb, yet few people are out tonight for some reason. The most Russell sees are people sitting on some benches, some walking the sidewalks, and others looking at a storefront. Russell turns back to the road to see a girl standing in the middle of the road, right in front of him, looking straight at him. Instinctively, he slams on his breaks, stopping quite a distance from the figure standing in front of him. 'I should pay attention to the road more often, and not watching the people,' he thinks to himself. He looks again at the girl to see if she's okay. The red and black coat, black skirt, and black high-heeled boots give the girl a rather familiar look. Russell then jumps out of his seat and almost through the ceiling, even though his seat belt is holding him down, when he recognizes the girl. "Holy shit, what the hell is Deanna doing in the middle of the street?" he swears to himself. Deanna's eyes glow a bright blue, making Russell wonder what she's doing. Then, Russell feels himself getting heavier as his whole car lifts off the ground. 'What's she doing to my car,' he thinks to himself as he unlatches his seatbelt and ducks. 'This is as good of place as any to transform,' he suggests to himself, since his tinted windows dim the inside of the car, making it difficult for the people to see him transform. Calling on the power of his obsidian jewel ring, Russell transforms into Tuxedo Inferno. Ready for battle, he opens the door of his levitating car and jumps out. "It looks like you want another fight," he says. Deanna releases her telekinetic grasp on the car, causing it to the ground 10 feet below in a thunderous crunch, causing it to drop its muffler and shatter a window. "We may compete academically at Azabu Tech, but out here I could challenge you at anytime," says Deanna. Tuxedo Inferno takes a look at his car, noticing that the right rear window is completely shattered. He then turns back to Deanna, with lowered eyebrows, "You ruined my car." "You are getting another one, aren't you?" Deanna asks. "Yeah, but this was my first car," Tuxedo Inferno argues, beginning to walk towards her, "This car and I have been through a lot together. I was gonna fix this car up real nice and give it to my sister when she gets old enough to drive." Deanna takes a glance at Russell's old coupe, "It doesn't look all that damaged." "Not all that damaged?!" Tuxedo Inferno argues, "Dammit, you dropped it from 10 feet up. You expect it to walk away from it with not even a scratch? You want a fight from me? You got it." Tuxedo Inferno tosses a ball of fire above his head. "Inferno FLAME!!!" he yells as he waves his arm, throwing it at Deanna. Deanna only holds her arm out in front of her, stopping the fireball right in front of her. It levitates for a few seconds, surprising Tuxedo Inferno. She then waves her arm, sending the fireball flying at his car. Tuxedo Inferno looks in complete shock at his own attack being turned on him, but more in fear as he notices where Deanna is aiming with that fireball. He quickly jumps in front of his car and takes the blast square in the chest, sending him flying on top of it. He quickly gets up from the attack, "What did my car ever do to you?" he yells as he does a few karate moves, "Inferno BEAM!!!" He throws both arms in front of him and fires a powerful beam of flames at Deanna. Tuxedo Inferno boasts as the beam hits its mark, sending Deanna back quite a ways. "Yeah, how 'bout that?" he taunts. Deanna slowly gets up from Tuxedo Inferno's attack. '"We've only begun,"' she says telepathically. Her eyes glow a bright blue as she points at Tuxedo Inferno. His body then abruptly lifts off the ground, flying up a short distance. With Tuxedo Inferno at her mercy, Deanna waves her arm towards one building, sending him flying into it with great force. He doesn't even make it to the ground before Deanna's telekinetic powers grab a hold of him again and send him flying into another building. Deanna holds his body in the air as she looks for something else to throw him at. She looks at his car as a possible target. 'No, it's taken enough already,' she thinks to herself. She then sees a manhole cover nearby. She telekinetically lifts it from the road and holds Tuxedo Inferno's body over it. "I hope you enjoy a nice swim," she says. She then throws her arm down, sending Tuxedo Inferno barreling down into manhole, and out of sight. She then moves the cover back over the hole and turns to walk away. Meanwhile, back at the temple, Raye sweeps the front porch of the temple, while Gabianni and Yuuichiro are tending the yard. Raye stops for a moment and looks at her watch. "He's been gone for almost an hour now. I wonder what's taking him," she thinks aloud. She continues with her work, thinking about her vision and wondering if Russell really is in any danger. Suddenly, another vision comes to her, very similar to the ones she saw last night. Only this vision seems so real, the look of an unknown figure blasting Tuxedo Inferno with a beam of energy frightens her. "Oh my god, he's in trouble," she says to herself. She throws her broom down and runs to where Yuuichiro and Gabianni are working. "Gabianni," she calls out as she continues running. Both men look at her, noticing the pale look on her face. "What's wrong, Raye?" Gabianni asks, "You look like you've just seen a ghost." "I might have," she answers, "I just had this odd sense come over me. I feel as if something's happened to Russell." "You sure?" Gabianni asks, "What do you want me to do about it?" "Take me to the 16th Street Plaza," she answers imperatively, "I know that's where he went, or went through when I felt this." "I'm kinda busy here to be chasing ghosts that you just happen to see," Gabianni says, wondering why she's so hyped up about it. Raye's face turns a burning hot red in response to Gabianni's comment and slams her fist on the railing, "Dammit, Gabianni, I don't want to just sit here and wonder if my only brother's even coming home. Just take me there and we'll both see why I'm having this clairvoyant sense." "Jeez, Raye, I'll take you down there," he says, stopping his work and heading toward his car, "but your clairvoyant visions aren't always right on you know." "Actually, I have quite a bit of faith in my 6th sense," Raye says contrarily, "Plus I really don't care if my sense is right. I just wanna be sure nothing bad has happened to Russell." Both make it to Gabianni's car and hop in. Soon, they drive off, on their way to where Raye felt Russell in danger. Back at the battle zone, Deanna begins walking away, thinking she has won this battle as well as yesterday's. Suddenly, a fiery blast blows the manhole cover off the street, getting Deanna's attention. She turns back to see Tuxedo Inferno emerging from the hole. She notices an odd l ooking device in his hand, wondering what he's doing with it. Tuxedo Inferno immediately places it to his throat and turns it on. "ONLY THE BEGINNING?" he says in a monotone, vibrator-induced voice, "THIS BATTLE ISN'T OVER YET." "Is that supposed to intimidate me?" Deanna asks, showing absolutely no fear, "You do remember I have no emotion." Tuxedo Inferno puts his voice synthesizer away and does a few more moves. "Inferno BEAM!!!" he yells, sending a beam of fire straight at Deanna. Deanna holds both arms in front of her, almost mimicking Tuxedo Inferno's pose. Her eyes glow blue as she stops the beam of fire right near her hands, causing it to collect in a rather large ball of flames. Tuxedo Inferno looks in pure amazement as Deanna fires the beam right back at him. The beam hits him, giving him his frequent flyer miles and taking a real bite out of him. He slowly comes to and finds Deanna standing right in front of him. 'How the hell did she get here so fast,' he thinks to himself. "Psychic wave", Deanna says in her usual impassive tone. Her eyes glow a bright blue as Tuxedo Inferno sees a rippling wave emanating from her. All of a sudden, his vision gets blurry, giving him a drunken feeling. His legs buckle from under him, as if he was really drunk, and passes out in a matter of seconds. "Face it, Tuxedo Inferno, you're no match for me," Deanna says, "We'll just have to see about our academics." She turns away from him and leaves the area. Tuxedo Inferno comes to a minute later, with a number of people standing around him. "You alright Tuxedo Inferno?" "She really cleaned your clock, dude." "We're still behind you, Tuxedo Inferno. We're fans of you and the Sailor Scouts." "Give him some room." Tuxedo Inferno gets to his feet a little quicker at the sound of the people's voices. "Thanks everyone," he says, "I'll be fine. Not the first time I've lost a battle." He walks toward his car as the people begin scattering, most of them talking about him and the legendary Sailor Scouts. "Damn, she's one tough opponent," he says to himself as he gets into his stricken car. "Awwwww... did she hurt you, my old coupe?" he asks his car as he strokes the dash. He slips his key in the ignition to see if it'll even start. At the turn of the key, a completely reassuring, but loud sound overcomes the plaza. Tuxedo Inferno lets out a sigh of relief and drives off toward the airport, with the engine thundering throughout the trip without its muffler. On his way there, Tuxedo Inferno transforms back into his civilian form when nobody's watching. Later, Gabianni and Raye approach the plaza where the battle had taken place earlier. Raye looks around the entire plaza as Gabianni slows down and does a little looking around himself. The numerous cars are parked along the curb and a few more people are walking about. Something on the side of the road catches Raye's eyes, "Gabianni, stop here." "Why? What do you see?" he asks as he quickly parks in a vacant spot. Raye hops out before Gabianni has a chance to turn the engine off. Raye scurries over to the object that caught her attention. She picks up a round metal disk, with a rather familiar design. Gabianni makes it over there to see what kind of junk Raye has picked up off the ground. "What is it, Raye? He asks. "It's a hubcap from Russell's car," she replies, looking around the plaza streets and avoiding an occasional car. "Anybody could've lost that hubcap while driving," he says. "Oh, but do people often lose whole windows while driving," Raye says as she sees a pool of shattered glass spread out on the road. Both Raye and Gabianni walk over to it once the road is clear and investigate it. "It's tinted glass," Gabianni says as he picks up a piece of tinting sheet with numerous shards of glass attached to it. "Just like on Russell's car," Raye adds. Another car part catches Gabianni's eye. "Hey Raye, I think I'm starting to believe you," he says as he finds a muffler sitting next to another car, with an exhaust tip matching the one on Russell's car. "How many car parts did he lose out here?" Raye asks. "I don't think people just lose car parts and windows like that," Gabianni comments, "Russell's car isn't in that bad of shape. "It never was, but it probably is now," says Raye. Both walk back to Gabianni's car, taking the hubcap and muffler with them. "Oh my god, what happened to Russell? I hope he's alright," Raye says as she hops into the car. "Well, he's not here and his car is not here," says Gabianni, trying to calm Raye's worries, "He'll probably be on his way anytime. Let's go home Raye. At least you know now that something happened here." Gabianni turns around after pulling out of the parking space and heads back to the temple. Later, at the temple... Raye continues sweeping the front patio, still wondering what could've happened to Russell to have that kind of damage done to his car. From the looks of it, and her vision, he was probably in a battle with that mystery person Raye keeps seeing in her visions. But the only way she could think of Russell's car being damaged in battle is if he was literally thrown into it. The true fact of Deanna dropping the car from 10 feet up doesn't even occur to her, unless that mystery person threw Russell's car at him. The sound of a rather loud engine from a car driving up catches Raye's attention. Immediately, the drops her broom and runs out when she sees Russell's old coupe pull up. She notices that the right rear window is missing, which explains the broken glass she and Gabianni saw on the road. Russell gets out of his car, only to have his sister fly into his arms. "Russell, thank God you're alright," she gasps, embracing him and feeling assured that he's alright. "Of course I'm alright," Russell says, returning Raye's embrace, "I got my tickets and I arranged to have my new car brought to the airport." "What happened to your car, Russell?" Raye asks, "What happened out there?" Russell hesitates for a moment, remembering how Deanna defeated him not once, but twice in battle, and how she dropped his car with her telekinetic powers. "Some idiot threw a rock through my window," he says, trying to avoid the issue. He then lets go of Raye and heads to into the temple and towards his room, "I'm tired, I need to rest." Raye notices the look on his face and definitely feels something different in him, 'Somehow, I think he's holding back.' She picks her broom back up and finishes sweeping the front patio, thinking about what could be troubling her brother. ------------------------------end of chapterr 1------------------------- Well, there y'all have it. I intended Deanna to become a new villain in the Russell Hino Epic. With battle scenes like that and powers such as hers, Deanna's got the potential to be one heck of a villain. You think this is great, wait 'til you see her in later chapters. She's unlike any villain I've ever written about, canon or original. Well, I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter, 'cause I ain't even halfway done with this fanfic yet. I tell y'all, I'm enjoyin' writin' this fic. I'ma get Chapter 2 out as uickly as possible since I'm on break, it'll be a good chapter. OOOOOOO O O O U O U BOOMER O U O U SOONER!
